Our first productions in Roanoke were of Renown Langston Hughes’ “Black Nativity”. We also create original productions . What Traditions do you celebrate? How can we celebrate the annual HARVESTS, and share the knowledge from the seeds of good intentions? The Sankofa reminds us to ask, “ What do we learn about the past that helps us now?” It’s important to share; and to expect a HARVEST from the year’s seeds of good thought.

An annual educational arts production. Youth learn the principles encouraged in African Am. Culture through Kwanzaa teachings. They practice their expressions of what it feels like to be a young person today. Youth question and share what topics mean to them. Performances provide a pathway for self inquiry and community acknowledgement of our common social needs. Help us share, and participate in a production with us as a educator/teacher/coach, a parent ( your kids to ), a donor, a stage volunteer ( for workshop/ event/venue ), a service provider, and a friend.

Share knowledge from the seeds of good intentions. The Sankofa reminds us that it is OK to remember the precious knowledge that was lost from our ancestors. Nutrition, Caring, Strength, Biology and cycles of life. How do we relate to the earth as a friend and teacher? What are the principles common around the planet that teach how to nurture the land and the people? Learn from indigenous cultures who practiced and sought to uphold their principles. How do you Love nature and appreciate the abundance of Mother Earth, Air, Water and Sunshine? All the basic elements that make a garden grow, also make our bodies grow too. We are all connected.
